WeCrochet Magazine
WeCrochet Magazine was created to fill an underserved population in the crafting community — crocheters. We wanted to transform the market, giving crochet its own voice and moving it out of being just an afterthought of knitting companies.
Crafts Group, LLC already had two successful craft companies under its belt when I was hired to develop WeCrochet’s visual identity including logo creation, brand color palette, brand fonts, and photography style. I was also involved in the early stages of website development, before the team was expanded to include a digital designer.
In my role as Magazine Director, I was responsible for visual content from start to finish. Provided with copy, I conceptualized and designed each magazine, cover to cover. This involved planning and styling all model photo shoots and studio shoots, laying out each cover, article, advertisement, interview, and pattern, and then routing all through multiple rounds of proofing. I then prepared and sent files for print, communicating with the vendor and performing the final proof.
