Reading Austen always sparks my imagination. For the book series I wanted a design reminiscent of secret gardens and reading nooks, something pretty and tactile. I achieved this through hand lettering and a rich pattern created from hand drawn elements.

Whenever I travel I find myself fascinated by the colors and patterns in the textiles of other cultures. Often the small imperfections of these handcrafted works of art enhance their beauty. With this in mind, I used potato stamps and India ink to create the elements that I scanned into Photoshop to create a repeating pattern.
